More of a milky flavor than anything else— definitely light on chocolate, cream, and anything else worth your time, save a maltiness that is prominent despite feeling a little forced. It finishes clean, and is easy to snatch another sip— shit, they get progressively better..
Less sweetness and cream than the Original version, but the flavor doesn't suffer in proportion because the cocoa is allowed more of the limelight and it works well. This isn’t a product that will blow your tastebuds’ collective mind, but given the nutritional stats, this tastes about as good as you could hope.
Smells like dirt, but to say that it tastes like dirt would be insincere flattery. It’s foreseeably under-sweet, chalky, significantly earthy, and thoroughly avoidable.
Palate-destroyingly sweet, and if you can persevere through the onslaught, you will find that your efforts were in vain; there’s nothing else behind it. The flavor isn’t ‘bad’ per se, it’s just rather pointless with something this sweet (artificial or not). I think people are more willing to accept a less-sweet ‘Light’ product— it should’t be amped up with artificial sweeteners to make someone feel that they’re having something indulgent.
Tastes exactly like an Amazon Prime box that sat out in a rain shower and then partially dried. This sensation exacerbates in the aftertaste-- it simply won't go away despite threats, prayers, and a fistful of smoky bbq chips. Don't torture yourself.
You wouldn't know that this contains artificial sweeteners— kudos to the Nom team for that. Everything tastes and feels authentic and is extremely impressive given its meager calorie count (only 49 per 100mL).
Water-thin and marked by an earthy/wheaty unpleasantness. Not recommended.
Incredibly thin, and still maintains a decently authentic flavor despite the watery texture. Much better than the Immergut Kakao I sampled in Frankfurt that had slightly different make up and stats. It’s cheap, adequately chocolaty, and drinkable in a pinch (considering the low calorie content).
Primarily a sharp, nearly bitter wheaty taste delivered through a chalky base that does it no favors. If I had to drink this ‘after sport’ like the package suggests, I would have to seriously reconsider my desire to be involved in sports.
Could use some salt, but overall a pleasant surprise in that it was potable. Only 45 calories and 4.5g sugar, with 5.3g protein per 100mL-- the stats are definitely better than the taste, but you can't have it all.
Unsweet, barely chocolaty, and a slight metallic aftertaste-- none of which are particularly egregious, but it's not a package I'd recommend for flavor pursuit.
Clearly, Matilde felt it necessary to concoct a cross between the ‘Mini’ 50% less sugar version and the ‘Sport’ extra protein version. In this case, you get the worst of both: super-chalky, nasty texture (Sport) and the gutter runoff flavor (Mini) that would make tree bark taste like peanut butter fudge by comparison.
Bland with a slightly nutty flavor that is an improvement over the sour/dirty flavor of the original. Considering the paucity of sugar in this product, it's not bad, but compared with normal chocolate milk, it’s still noticeably behind. Tastes better than expected, but my expectations could have stood tall beneath a pregnant tick.
Shockingly bitter upon first sip, but warms up quickly. I dig the uniqueness and the (way) under sweetened approach— it's memorable and reminds you that decent cocoa flavor doesn't require a ton of help.
I don’t want to make light of child abuse, but please don’t feed this to your kids. I understand that there’s 50% less sugar, and that ‘taste’ is not the primary objective here, but it should have at least been considered.
The most prominent flavor here is ‘regret.’ Fifty percent less sugar may be too ambitious— there’s zero sweetness, zero creaminess, no salt, minimal sour cocoa flavor, all wrapped up in a nasty dark gray liquid that, in retrospect, looks much more appetizing that what is delivered. Eschew.
Mildly metallic aftertaste that dissipates quickly, but the chalkiness is slower to vanish. From a flavor standpoint, it’s under sweetened an under salted; not recommended for recreational consumption.
Smoother texture than the non-light versions, and the horrendous taste is muted to enough of an extent that it *improves* the score. It’s the darkest product I’ve sampled thus far— reminiscent of crude oil.
Awful chemical taste, very grainy and unnatural feeling texture. I don't see how people can drink this voluntarily.
Grainier, slightly more natural feeling than the ‘Genuine’ Muscle Milk, but still hard to get down. Lots of grit in the teeth after each reluctant swallow.
