Very smooth, appropriately creamy, but lacking a cocoa punch. Instead, the flavor resembles an inoffensive, yet relatively uninspired cooked milk sweetness that fades in proportion with the sip-to-swallow process. You’re left with a clean finish that helps to warrant future consumption, facilitating the ‘getting used to’ process.
Hollow and watery with the trademark Stevia-astringency, which remains remarkably difficult to hide. I’ve had much worse tasting things at this low-50s-calorie-per-100mL tranche, and I can’t deny the impressive attributes (organic, lactose free, gluten free, Fair Trade, high calcium, high(ish) protein)— but the flavor and drinking experience does not compare favorably to your average chocolate milk.
The sweeteners seem to be in competition and ultimately dominate the experience. A honey-like note kicks off the sip, but by the end, you have a saliva-inducing essence plaguing your tongue. In the interim, there’s too much chalk and not enough cocoa to salvage a respectable score.
Sweet, chocolaty, and decently (but not distractingly) chalky. There’s lots of flavor and it’s surprisingly well balanced— overall, one of the better tasting protein-fortified chocolate milks out there.
Sweet and chalky with a somewhat reluctant cocoa flavor hiding behind a more vanilla-laced sweetness. It doesn’t feel ‘milky’— it doesn’t taste ‘chocolaty’— but it does taste familiar.
Powdery texture veiled in a light (but sweet) caramel flavor. That actually reads better than it drinks.
Dark, bold, mature cocoa flavor that is drinkable through the wondrous confluence of science and agriculture. It’s the perfect size (4.5oz / 135mL) for something so indulgent, in that it not only prevents over exposure, but it forces one to drink it slowly and truly appreciate the experience. The future of chocolate milk for adults, and perhaps the future of dessert itself.
Has that sweet carton-y flavor that plagues many chocolate milks packaged in such a way. Basically, it’s like licking one of those colored greeting card envelopes that has a modicum of sweetness and otherwise industrial paper-like quality. I think I prefer the envelope.
Bland and unoffensive, very smooth and drinkable for a nonfat chocolate milk. It’s hard to get excited about it, but there are much worse skim options out there that try too hard to be something they are not.
More of a ‘peanutty’ essence than that of chocolate— it’s salty, and very smooth. Not a bad experience, but one that is lacking cocoa flavor.
An under-chocolaty but otherwise fully competent whole chocolate milk. It disperses pleasantly and naturally, has a decent sweet/salty ratio, and has a good creamy taste.
Creamy, salty, sweet, mildly chocolaty— in that order, and it’s enjoyable save for a fleeting quality to the flavor that feels a touch unnatural.
Mature arrangement of cream, cocoa, and muted sweetness that flourishes in the latter half of the sip and finishes clean— preparing you for the next draw without forcing you to rush.
Rather bland with a nearly minty essence to the latter half of the sip. Reminiscent of that emoji that has the flat horizontal lines for its eyes and mouth.
Fairly straight forward chocolate milk experience that leans slightly toward the starchier end of the spectrum. It’s not overpoweringly sweet, which works to its advantage but it remains on the low end of mediocrity.
Starchy, thickened, and chalky finish: a ham-fisted attempt to mask its fat deficiency. The flavor is highlighted by a ‘cartony’ note and reinforced with salt (a good move).
Decent flavor, above average cream, but sadly, the texture feels starchy and as a result, it doesn’t distribute naturally in the mouth.
Solidly tasty, relatively uninspired otherwise-- not that taking chances is always a good thing. It's smooth, and feels undersweet at the start, then the sweetness becomes more apparent in the aftertaste.
Like drinking a dark chocolate bar- this is an experience not to be missed. Densely packed with cream and OUTSTANDING cocoa flavor— ‘indulgent’ does’t quite do it justice. Your mouth will wonder what it did to deserve such a pleasure.
Very well balanced and highly drinkable. Not weighed down with excess sugar or that ‘thickened’ feel— a pleasant addition to any grocery order or BYOB gathering.
