It's New Year's Eve in Upstate New York-- and not a snowflake in sight-- just three local chocolate milk producing dairies that are well worth your time to check out. From Geneva to Watkins Glen, we travel the length of Seneca Lake with little more than a lustful palate and a large cooler.
Some chocolate milks leave an impression long after the last few drops are consumed-- and S&D Smith Dairy is undoubtedly one of those. Non-homogenized, low-temp pasteurized Jersey goodness, blended to perfection and sold at E.A.T. Food For Life right next door to the farm-- I can't wait for the next time I can reunite with one of the all-time best I've had thus far, and that's saying something!
Just in time for St. Patrick's Day-- it's the Shamrock Farms episode! A nationally-available brand throughout the U.S., Shamrock Farms has quite the extensive portfolio of drinkable dairy confection. Like anything else, some are better than others, and one in particular gets a visit from afoolzerrand.com's official mascot-- the gassy skunk..
Universally-lauded, oft-recommended Promised Land chocolate milk finally takes center stage in a long overdue review episode where we take an in-depth look at both the reduced fat (2%) and whole versions-- comparing them against both a rival national brand, and a local standout. Without further ado, to the Promised Land we go..
Well, review 1,600 came sooner than expected— thanks to a few impromptu road trips and a couple very generous friends showering* me with novel chocolate milks picked up on their travels. Fortunately, I haven’t actually showered in chocolate milk since…
Join me for yet another statewide Top 5 chocolate milk review-- this time it's Virginia-- and nothing can stop us as we persevere through botched intros, milk outages, and even hair-contamination. If the question "What's the best chocolate milk in Virginia" is on your mind, sit back and enjoy as we do our best to provide a complete and unbiased look at the Commonwealth's top choccys.
Zeal Grass Milk Creamery chocolate milk went from 'good' to 'outstanding' in a short amount of time, thanks to the care and top-quality standards that underscore the relatively young but growing brand. Though the chocolate milk reformulation was wildly successful in my view, Zeal managed to maintain its novelty and class from beginning to end. Try this stuff if you haven't yet. And try it again if you have.
Maryland is a dairy force to be reckoned with, judging by the great chocolate milk it produces-- and here we venture to capture it all, review it, and rank it in typical countdown fashion. Join me for a chocolate milk pilgrimage to the Old Line State, peppered with historical misinformation, puppet anatomy, buzzer beaters, and Nigerian pygmy goats. It all makes sense in the end.
Relative newcomer to the chocolate milk scene is La Colombe's Draft Chocolate Milk-- available in stores nationwide as well as online. So is it any good, and how does it compare to canned counterpart Slate chocolate milk? Spend a few bucks of your own to find out, or spend about 5 minutes here for some random guy on the internet's opinion.
It's been a long time coming, but it's finally here-- the Nesquik episode! An in-depth review of each type of Nesquik (low fat, double chocolate, protein power, and whole milk) in addition to reviewing the iconic Nesquik Powder vs. the Nesquik Syrup. Even Nestle Chuckie earns an appearance given its global appeal. While no animals were harmed in the making of this video, my pride and taste buds took a minor beating.
