So chalky that it turns the inside of your mouth into velcro. It’s not chocolaty, but there’s nothing too nasty about the flavor (if you can get past the chalk). After drinking half of this bottle, my mouth is drier than it was last August after a 7-hour un-airconditioned waterless train ride across Bulgaria.
Thickish and super drying to the mouth— quite a strong powdery quality. Flavorwise, it does well for having artificial sweeteners (they’re not over-present) and the chocolate is there but comes with a little sharpness initially. The more I drink, the more I’m used to the flavor but disgusted by how its coating the inside of my mouth.
Salty and eventually malty with a caramel-like note as well. The stevia is rather well hidden, as is the cocoa flavor. The aftertaste may be a bit sharp for some, but it’s a unique flavor that was unexpected given its packaging and claims.
Unnaturally sludgy texture that oozes forth an earthy, contrived cocoa flavor. Expect a fair bit of residue to line the inside of wherever you choose to pour this— but I don’t recommend ‘the mouth.’
A remarkable drink in many respects-- it has a unique ingredient list (including caffeine and marula fruit puree) and also an unusual nutritional profile (4.1g fat, 5.7g protein, 163mg calcium per 100mL). The taste is creamy, decently chocolaty, and has a tiny hint of Bailey’s Irish Cream flavor. All in all, one to remember, and one to seek out if you’re in the Vienna area.
Foamy top but a pretty fair and true chocolate flavor throughout. The sweetness isn't overdone (thankfully, as it’s artificially sweetened) so no major red flags go up when you send this down your gullet.
A little dusty and drying to the mouth. Sweetness feels shallow and fake, but it’s not terrible for a protein fortified drink.
Highly unsweet, but with noticeable bitter cocoa flavor that has a tiny hint of anise to the finish. It’s fairly thick, grainy, and chalky as you might expect for a drink with nearly 10g of protein per 100mL, but it doesn’t reek of unnaturalness like many others do.
Tastes exactly like an Amazon Prime box that sat out in a rain shower and then partially dried. This sensation exacerbates in the aftertaste-- it simply won't go away despite threats, prayers, and a fistful of smoky bbq chips. Don't torture yourself.
Thicker, sweeter, and decidedly less brutal than the ‘Light’ version. It’s deceptively creamy, and does not carry a vitamin-y taste or horrific aftertaste.
Scurries down your throat as if it's surprised it even got past your lips— a vile, parasitic maneuver. Deceptively thin and watery, it launches an unpleasant ferrous assault on your interior. Three sips was enough for me, and I do this kind of thing for fun.
Your tongue will immediately react with a “WTF!”— and your hand will soon get the message and set the drink down. Despite pleasant aesthetics and texture, the stevia taste will contort your face in ways you didn't think possible.
Chalky, grainy, and terrible flavor that is closer to anise (black licorice) than cocoa. I’ve had a lot of protein-enriched chocolate milks in recent months, and most are more palatable than this.
Seems like a contradiction in terms, but this is SO memorably bland. It tastes like nothing at all— not water, not air, but maybe like plain 1% milk, without the ‘milk’ flavor though (whatever that is). Almost always, these protein drinks have some sort of weird flavor, sweetener, texture, etc.— but not this one. Four years ago, in Berlin (for my birthday) we did the float tank (Float Berlin); this is the drinkable version of sensory deprivation.
Super dark, very chalky, but also decently chocolaty. The flavor is much better than the texture— which is downright sludgy the closer you get to the bottom. The last few ‘sips’ will require mandibular employ.
Thick, metallic, nasty. Like drinking the blood of someone who just did crossfit. No salt, and a bit too much sweet-- this should be avoided.
Not bad flavor at all, especially for a protein-fortified drink. The only criticism is the texture, which is on the thick and starchy side (probably unavoidably so). Overall, a pleasant surprise.
Dead bland… No sweetness, salt, cream, cocoa— just a thick, chalky fluid that tricked me into consuming it. Won't happen again.
Primarily a sharp, nearly bitter wheaty taste delivered through a chalky base that does it no favors. If I had to drink this ‘after sport’ like the package suggests, I would have to seriously reconsider my desire to be involved in sports.
No noticeable difference from the Arla Protein Choklad Mjolkdryck Sport: Sweet and powdery— leaves a noticeable residue in the mouth post-swallow that is unpleasant. The chocolate flavor is there but is hindered by the texture, making it feel less authentic.
